Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Those familiar bells will be ringing at local stores again.
The Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign kicked off today.
The Army announced a lofty goal this holiday season. They want to raise $825,000 for people in need in Cass and Clay counties.
Former Fargo Theatre Executive Director Margie Bailly is this year's Honorary Kettle Chairperson.
Margie Bailly, Honorary Kettle Chairperson: “If each and every one of us would put in one dollar, or even a quarter every time we pass a kettle, think about how that would impact that $825,000. I honestly think we can make it to a million dollars.”
Money from donations goes to the Salvation Army's many programs, including the Thanksgiving basket program which distributes ingredients for a Thanksgiving meal to more than 500 families.
