GARRISON, N.D. (AP) — One week after Election Day, residents of the North Dakota city of Garrison are still voting.
A special election was being held Tuesday on a proposed bond levy of up to $9 million to expand the high school and elementary school buildings. The Bismarck Tribune reports that the measure requires 60 percent approval to pass.
School board member Bonnie Nygard says the school district is seeing more students and needs more space.
Nygard says the special election was separated from last week's general election to avoid confusion over who is eligible to vote, since the Garrison School District covers a large geographical area.
