Veterans are honored across the valley

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- The country is celebrating the service of all military vets across U.S. today. Despite the cold and snowy weather, Veterans Day ceremonies were held across the valley.

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- The country is celebrating the service of all military vets across U.S. today. Despite the cold and snowy weather, Veterans Day ceremonies were held across the valley.

It was standing room only at the county office building in Grand Forks.

Ken Dodds/GFAFA Historian: "Today marks the 93rd time Americans have come together."

It's a Veterans Day ceremony intended to put a smile soldier's faces and thank them for their past and present sacrifices.

Dodds: "One day is never enough to thank thank all of you for your service and your sacrifice."

Kristen and Greg Abner brought their son George and Daughter Hannah to the Ceremony.

Greg Abner: "I love my country and I want to instill that in my children."

Kristen Abner/Attending Vets Day Ceremony: "Teach them a little bit about America. And let them know there is a lot of people that fought for our freedoms and liberties."

Their Kids did just that, surrounded by soldiers and the pomp and circumstance that comes with at veterans day celebration.

Dodds: "May god bless you, bless our veterans, and the United States of America."
