BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A convicted felon who walked away from a Mandan halfway house has been arrested in Fort Yates.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A convicted felon who walked away from a Mandan halfway house has been arrested in Fort Yates.

Christopher Young is charged in federal court with escape. Authorities say he tampered with his GPS monitor before leaving the facility on Oct. 28.

Young was convicted in February 2011 on two felony counts of sexual abuse of a minor. He was placed at Centre Inc. on Sept. 10 and was scheduled to be released on March 8, 2013.

Young made his first court appearance Tuesday. A trial date has not been set.
