Lindenwood Park unveiling $1 million lift bridge

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Great news for the hundreds of walkers, runners and bikers who use the walking bridges between Fargo and Moorhead.

Today is the grand opening of the new $1 million lift bridge connecting Lindenwood and Gooseberry Park.

The lift can raise the 168 foot bridge 45-feet in the air. That'll make it safe for a 500-year flood.

Mayor Mark Voxland, Moorhead: “Two years ago we lost this bridge so we had to fix the bridge. We had to replace the bridge and what a great thing to do to put a life bridge in this site and this is the busiest walk bridge that we've got.”

13,000 people use the three walking bridges daily.
