West Fargo road celebrated for re-opening

West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - They are celebrating the re-opening of one of the busiest stretches of road in the metro.

State and local leaders cut the ceremonial ribbon today on Main Avenue in West Fargo.

The road actually opened Thursday.

The nearly $15 million project added more lanes, redesigned frontage roads and upgraded storm drains.

Businesses in the area are happy to have the road open again, and about the improvements it will bring.

Dave Zubel, Adesa Auto Auction: “It really created a safe roadway for our employees, customers and all the traffic going in. So it's really a nice project to have done.”

This is the second phase of a three part project. Next year work will be done on Main Avenue from the Sheyenne Bridge west to I-94.
