Northfield, MN (WDAY TV) -- Last week we brought you the story of the Perham boys cross country team, today, that story finished with a happy ending.
The Yellowjackets down at the state meet in Northfield, trying to win the program's 4th state championship.
Perham's first runner is Keeghan Hurley, who comes in at 5th place, completing the 5-K course in 16 minutes and 1 second. 2 Spots back, his teammate Brady Speicher takes 7th at 16:09. The Yellowjackets place 5 guys in the top 12 spots, that's remarkable.
They beat St. Cloud Cathedral by 35 points and claim the program's 4th state title in 7 years, it's first since 2010.
Perham also wins the small school national title and the Yellowjackets
will race at the Nike Nationals next week in Sioux Falls.
