BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Four North Dakota Army National Guard soldiers have been honored in a ceremony before they deploy for a year to Afghanistan and Qatar.

The members of the 1919th Contingency Contracting Team are based in Bismarck. The unit specializes in planning, coordinating and issuing contracts for supplies and services needed to support U.S. forces. The four soldiers will be responsible for contracting support with civilian organizations, including American contractors, in-country contractors and other foreign businesses.

Gov. Jack Dalyrmple and Sen. John Hoeven spoke at Saturday's ceremony.

Hoeven says more than 300 members of the North Dakota National Guard are now deployed to various places around the world.
