Detroit Lakes holds on for a win against Rocori

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Last night here at the Dome, we had a finish for the ages, Detroit Lakes couldn't have played a better first half against Rocori, racing out to a 29-0 lead thanks to 4 touchdowns from Michael Herzog, then had to hang on for dear life as Rocori came roaring back to nearly win the game.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Last night here at the Dome, we had a finish for the ages, Detroit Lakes couldn't have played a better first half against Rocori, racing out to a 29-0 lead thanks to 4 touchdowns from Michael Herzog, then had to hang on for dear life as Rocori came roaring back to nearly win the game.

The Lakers held on to win it 29-28 and ended a 10 year state tournament drought.

Stefan Erb, Detroit Lakes WR, says, "Football always been a huge thing in Detroit lakes, really something special for the fans, make an appearance

at state."

Flint Motschenbacher, Detroit Lakes head coach, says, "We just hadn't been able to get over the hump, pretty gratifying to call Detroit Lakes a section champion, and hopefully it will rekindle a little bit and get the little

kids excited about it."
