San Marcos, TX (WDAY TV) -- A North Dakota pilot died when his small plane crashed in Texas early this morning.
66-year-old Clarence Schollmeyer was from Dunn Center. No one else was on the plane, and no one else was hurt.
Authorities say Schollmeyer was taking a test flight in a double-engine plane when it crashed on the grounds of a job center in San Marcos.
Witnesses reported seeing a fireball on the ground.
It was foggy at the time of the crash. The National Weather Service had issued a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. for much of the area.
