Hawley football team prepares to play Barnesville

(WDAY TV) -- It's a game high school football fans in the area have been looking forward to for a couple of years and it's finally here this week.

(WDAY TV) -- It's a game high school football fans in the area have been looking forward to for a couple of years and it's finally here this week.

Undefeated and 3rd ranked Barnesville facing undefeated and 5th ranked Hawley. The two teams haven't played one another since 2010, a 42-0 Barnesville win, but Friday everything is on the line, from bragging rights to a trip to state.

Jeff Christianson, Hawley Jr., says, "This is just the best that it could have ever have gone, playing a number one seed which is us, 2 is Barnesville, both undefeated it's going to be a dogfight until last second goes off clock."

Nate Branden, Hawley Sr., says, "Little nerveracking because they're

number two but that doesn't mean anything show up to play basically it's

mental because we're both physical teams."

Alex Ames, Hawley Sr., says, "It's going to come down to basic fundamentals, who doesn't make the most mistakes, and heart, heart is going to be huge."

Barnesville last made the state tourney in 2010, Hawley in 2009, it's an 8pm kickoff at the dome Friday.
