Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Bond is set at 75-hundred dollars for a 19 year old Belcourt man accused of leading police on a 40-mile, high speed chase.
It happened Thursday, west of Grand Forks. Authorities say Sheldon Demery reached speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour during the chase.
Demery told a judge that he was trying to return to the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation to resume his high school studies. He's charged with theft of a car, fleeing police, reckless driving, criminal mischief and driving with a suspended license.
