Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- Tomorrow night, students from Moorhead High will gather for a sobering, but life-changing walk.

For the last several days, a group of teenagers has been planning a "Hope. Save. Ignite" event at Fargo's Lindenwood Park. An effort to bring awareness to teens about depression and suicide. A recent death by suicide near Glyndon, sparked the walk and discussion.

Lucy Smith is turning her grief into action. After losing a 16-year old friend from Glyndon to suicide late this summer.

Lucia Smitch/Moorhead High Senior: "You really don't know how what people are going through. And you probably never will."

Did people know....absolutely no idea. Warning signs? Close to none.

Lucy has the entire student body at Moorhead High rallying around a suicide prevention campaign. The organization is all about getting rid of the stigma of depression, suicide. The team of students has gone classroom to classroom, inviting teens to a special walk at Lindenwood tomorrow night.

"We want you to come and walk for someone, walk for yourself."

Scott Matheson/Moorhead High Counselor: "It is a student led initiative and they own it and issues that pertain to them and has such a great impact and students embrace that message."

This is also connected to Moorhead's: Get Louder Day, set for next Tuesday. An anti-bullying campaign. All in an effort to perhaps change or save the life of someone struggling.

Scott: "I think that is the big problem with kids our age, everything seems like the end of the world and we have no idea what is next, we might be going through something tough now but life will end up beautiful."

That walk starts at 6:00 tomorrow night at Lindenwood Park. For more, go to wday.com and click on the easy links tab.
