Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Hundreds of families today received free coats for the winter, and just in time.

The Family Life Thrift store today unloaded truck-loads of coats for distribution to needy families in the area. Socks, caps and hats along with hundreds of coats for adults and children were handed out at the downtown YMCA this afternoon.

For the last two months, The Family Life Thrift Store has been collecting items from collections sites around the metro, for those who are just getting by.

Joe Larson with the Family Life Thrift Store says, "we see people here on a regular basis, and kids and adults are on the border regular expenses and maybe a thin coat and a gracious community providing to those in need."

Donations of clean coats and hats are still being accepted at Family Life Thrift Store on 45th Street in Fargo.
