Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Halloween is less than a week away and to help you get in the spirit, Kerstin has tracked down some of the top apps for the young and young at heart.

Whether you're looking for screams or not so scary fun this Halloween there's an app for that.

High on the holiday list is candy fever, and it lets you collect all the candy you want without the stomach ache or cavities.

You just tilt your iPhone/iPad to move the candy bag, but watch out for bad candy and ghosts. You can play with several different characters and even load a picture of yourself and become your own character.

The Scariest Halloween Story Ever is a top pick for fun, educational apps.

It's an interactive story narrated by a little boy called the Candy Corn Man who tries to convince scaredy-cats or chickens not to read any further.

You can have it read to you or read it yourself.

If you're looking for a way to scare your friends and family, the Fright Factory app will do the trick. It's filled with scary sounds and background tracks. It includes a Chainsaw, mummy, Bone crush, screams and a haunted organ. Perfect for telling spooky ghost stories or creating a haunted soundtrack.

With the trick or tracker app, parents can locate their trick-or-treater with the touch of a single button on their Smartphone. You have to download the app to both phones and set a password.

Parents can also set up a "geofence" and get an alert if your child ventures out of a specific area. A great child tracker - year 'round.

There are similar apps, sometimes with different names, on the apple and android markets.
