Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- A local Coalition is trying to discover the specific challenges facing Fargo-Moorhead's homeless population.

The F-M Coalition of Homeless Persons surveyed people at the Fargodome and other sites today. The Wilder Survey of Homelessness is done every three years to learn how to best address the needs of local homeless people.

It's part of Project Community Connect, which provides meals, dental work, flu shots, and even haircuts.

Laurie Baker, with the FM Coalition for Homeless persons, says, "haircuts has a direct connection to people's sense of dignity and respect, how they feel about themselves. We have so many stories about people who have gotten a haircut at project connect and then on to get a job."
