Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- New developments in a serious boating accident last summer. Prosecutors have filed a felony charge against a Fargo man.

The Otter Tail County Attorney's office charged 19-year old Lucas Buerkley in connection with the accident that critically injured one of his friends.

Buerkley is charged with causing bodily harm while driving a boat with a blood alcohol of point 09.

Nick Schmit was injured in that accident. He is still recovering and undergoing therapy.

Authorities say Buerkley was the driver of the boat pulling tubers on West Mc-Donald Lake near Vergas July 4th that struck Schmit. The propeller caused critical injuries to his neck and back.
