It's another sign of the changing media landscape. And it means the well-known superhero has a new job - other than being Superman.

Superman has already had to find a way to deal with the loss of the phone booth and now it's good bye to The Daily Planet.

In the new Superman comic just hitting the shelves, Clark Kent is fed up with increasing coverage of entertainment and quits to become an online reporter and blogger. It's part of a strategy to appeal to a younger demographic.

Richard Earl, Paradox Comics: “Right away it strikes me as ironic that a character in a print comic, published by a company that's trying to sell print comics, has its character reject print as a medium. I think that's kind of funny.”

And this is not the first time Clark Kent has changed jobs.

Earl: “In the 1970's they tried to revive the character by having him leave the newspaper industry and become a TV reporter/anchor.”

Of course meteorologists never go out of style.

Besides Superman, many other superheroes have been given make-overs to reflect current trends.
