Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - An NDSU political analyst says the poll provides good insight.
Dr. Nicolas Barouth says poll accuracy in North Dakota is hard to measure because the state's population is extremely spread out.
Another concern is surveying people mainly on landline phones, rather than cell phones.
Dr. Nicholas Bauroth, NDSU Associate Professor: “If you take this poll at face value, people don't feel quite as passionately about the candidates as they might in the Senate. It's not as if there's a lot of people who might dislike one person or the other. They tend to be sort of ‘Oh they seem okay.’”
Bauroth says Cramer's lead is partially because North Dakota leans republican, and believes Gulleson hasn't done enough to set herself apart.
