Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - The Minnesota high school football playoffs kick off tomorrow. No team has been carried more this season than Moorhead's Chase Morlock who lifted the Spuds to an undefeated regular season and is trying to end a 25 year championship drought.

Kevin Feeney, Moorhead Head Coach: “You know I think there's a lot of times when we get to the fourth quarter and guys don't want to come in and tackle him. You're seeing a lot of guys taking dives in the pond.”

His burst, his acceleration, and his pad level. He just has all of the tools to really be a complete back

and a complete football player.

Chase Morlock, Moorhead Sr. Running Back: “I set my goals high, so I'm still working to get to them.”

Chase Morlock is one of the best runningbacks in Minnesota, but he still plays like he has something to prove. Just like he had to when meeting a new head coach named Kevin Feeney two and a half years ago.

Feeney: “When we first saw him he's a 160 pound kid and he, right up from the start, really felt like he could play varsity football.”

Determined to make an impact, Morlock hit the weight room. He's up to 200 pounds now and the senior running back can out bench press anyone on the team, maxing out at an impressive 320 pounds.

Coach Feeney came in with his offseason program.

This fall Morlock has had to impress yet another new coach, over the summer Feeney added former Bison All-American running back Tyler Roehl to his coaching staff.

Confidence that may be a key to another section title for the Spuds.

Morlock is receiving interest from all the local DI schools. He intends to make up his mind after the season.
