West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Farmers who works the fields south of West Fargo likely never dreamed of it. But tomorrow, thousands of people will travel down Veterans Boulevard for the long anticipated Costco Store grand opening.

There are people inside Costco at this hour for the store's soft opening. No buying. Just a lot of looking.

But tomorrow at 8a.m., things change. And Veteran's Boulevard will turn into Jam-Packed Costco Connection.

As more signed up for memberships at Costco today, those preparing to open the store, operated on little sleep.

Angela Bauer, Costco Mgr.: “That is what it is, an eye for detail and putting your best foot forward.”

After months of planning and public anticipation, the retail giant is about to turn the key.

Bauer: “We are expecting a lot of outside company, just sweeping the front porch as if you were having a few thousand people coming over.”

And West Fargo Police and City engineers are ready. As crews prepare to install stop lights, barriers will be removed tomorrow for the expected crowds. There will be a strong police presence to control traffic.

Lt. Duane Sall, West Fargo Police: “We have people assigned to be out here all day tomorrow and each day we will have someone assigned here for the next week.”

All in an effort to keep the roads safe, as Costco puts the finishing touches today on details, all for tomorrow morning's opening.

Find alternate ways, not everyone has to take 94 into there. They can take 32nd avenue. There are other ways to get here we can handle it all.

Police say one benefit is the road coming into the parking lot off of Veterans Boulevard is wide and long.

Traffic can back up here rather than on the main road. And the parking lot is big. A ribbon cutting with West Fargo city leaders at 7:30 tomorrow and then at 8 a.m., doors open.
