ROCKVILLE, Minn. (AP) — A man who was shot by a deputy in the central Minnesota town of Rockville has been transferred to a Minneapolis hospital.
Twenty-eight-year-old Marcus Michael Barshaw, of Walker, had been in critical condition at St. Cloud Hospital on Sunday. He was transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center, where a spokeswoman said Monday she had no information on his condition.
Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner tells the St. Cloud Times he has a deputy stationed outside Barshaw's room at HCMC.
Authorities suspect Barshaw shot 30-year-old Jeffrey Schutz, of Rockville, early Sunday and fled. Sanner says a deputy later shot Barshaw three times after he refused to put down his gun.
Charges have not been filed, and the case remains under investigation.
