Heidi Heitkamp calls on women to help rally her campaign

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- U.S. Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp is calling on women to rally her campaign.

Heitkamp teamed up with U-S Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Former First Lady Jane Sinner for a "Women for Heidi" rally. This was this evening in Fargo.

Before the rally the group held a "Women in Business" roundtable, talking about what's being done at a federal level to help female owned and operated small businesses.

Sen. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana says, "i believe that women bring a different perspective, men bring a different perspective women bring a very valuable perspective and frankly until we get to that 50% it won't be completely equal."

17 of the 100 Senators are women.
