Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Students took over NDSU's campus and Facebook page to prove that writing can be fun.

NDSU joined schools and libraries across the country to celebrate National Day on Writing. The campus Center for Writers held an open house to showcase a recent expansion.

And on Facebook, students, alumni, faculty, and community members composed a story together a few sentences at a time.

Mary Pull, Center for writers director, says, "you can't live without writing. We record everything, whether it's personal documents or we write at work, we write in school, we write even Internet and texting. It's all textual, we are a writing-centered society."

Other events on campus included guest speakers and a calligraphy class.
