Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- The presiding bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran church in America spoke to students at Concordia college.

Based in Chicago, the Reverend Mark Hanson oversees 26 lutheran colleges across the country.

He spoke at Concordia's morning chapel service, and afterward, addressed questions about the marriage amendment on the Minnesota ballot in November.

Rev. Mark Hanson says, "Well, I know the marriage amendment is creating a lot of lively discussion...My hope is, when people listen to those religious voices, they won't hear them as voices as polarizing and excluding, but inviting people into deeper conversations."

Reverend Hanson gives a public presentation at 7:00 tonight at the Centrum.

It'll be followed by a Q and A session moderated by Concordia President William Craft
