Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - For the first time in 11 months, the Bison lost a football game on Saturday, knocking them out of the top spot nationally and in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Craig Bohl is hoping his team mimics its performance after their only defeat last season. NDSU won its final five games last year en route to the title.
The Bison now sit right in the middle of the conference standings and still with some tough games ahead NDSU knows there can't be any more miss-steps.
Craig Bohl, 80-32 Record at NDSU: “I know that Sunday morning and even Saturday night for me personally it was hard if you're a competitor. I know our players were as well. We didn't play very well. I think it's important for us is to learn from that. Then I think Indiana State played probably their best game. They were error free. There's going to be times where you don't play well. But, what's important for us is if we're in those situations again we'll be able to move through those things. Move through those overcoming turnovers, create some takeaways, and generate some field position.”
Bohl added that starting strong safety Brian Shepherd is out with a lacerated kidney and wide receiver Zach Vraa is doubtful with an AC shoulder separation.
With the loss, the Bison drop from one to four in the latest coaches poll, Eastern Washington takes the top spot, James Madison at 2, with Georgia Southern at 3.
