Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- It was a day for the dogs in Grand forks. Circle of Friends Humane Society held a fundraiser this week that ended with its 4th annual Dog Festival.

Just like parents take their kids to the fair, pet owners took their dogs the Dog festival.

Sue Twedt/Dog Owner: "He's just really part of the family, he goes everywhere with us."

Dogs flooded the Circle of Friends Dog park today to take part in a little friendly competition.

Arlette Moen/Circle of Friends Executive Director: "We had a sing off, we had most disobedient, we had an obstacle course, we had a doggy dash, so a lot of things that ya don't really need a lot of talent for but it's just fun to get out there and run around."

Sue Twedt: "Our labordoodle participated in the doggie bowling, he won that."

Dog owners say that although their furry friends get spoiled on a daily basis, the festival gives them a chance to get a little extra special treatment.

Judy Bruski/Dog owner: "We had five kids, he had four kids with another marriage and none of them were as spoiled as bad as these dogs."

The festival was held in conjuction with an online fundraiser Five in Five which aimed to raise 5000 dollars in five days.

Arlette Moen: "We were trying to raise 5000 dollars in five days to help us with some medical expenses for some animals that needed some care and were at about $4100 so we did really well.
