Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Man's best friend is helping youngsters with their confidence in reading.
The young students read to dogs for 15 minutes. The "reading educational assistance dogs program" gives them a chance to read out loud in a relaxed, non-threatening environment.
The program is in its 4th year.
Amber Gajeski, READ dog helper, says, "Dogs don't really know if they get a word right or a word wrong, I mean he just listens and they're just there to listen to them."
The READ dogs are at the Grand Forks Library the second Sunday of every month at 2pm.
