Casselton man is killed by a train

Casselton, ND (WDAY TV) -- Authorities are trying to figure out what happened, as a 69-year old Casselton man is killed after being hit by a train.
It happened just after 4 this afternoon, on the main tracks in town that run east-west across Highway 18.
The victim was struck by an eastbound train, and authorities say at the time of the accident a westbound train was running on a parallel set of tracks.
The accident backed up train traffic, all the way into Fargo-Moorhead this evening. Police are waiting to release the man's identity until family is notified.
