Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Catholics have the opportunity to pray to small relics from the bodies of saints this weekend.

An exhibit is on display at the bi-annual Marian Eucharistic Congress at the Fargo Civic Center. Each of the more than 100 relics in this room contains a little piece of a saint. Whether that be a piece of a bone, blood, or a shred of clothing.

People visit the exhibit to pray or meditate.

Among the items are a relic of Saint Peter, a piece of the true cross on which Jesus Christ was crucified, and a piece containing relics from all 12 apostles.

This collection belonged to Fargo Bishop James Sullivan. His personal assistant says the church does not claim relics will cause miracles, but recognizes that they have in the past.

George Lacher: "If you pray to a saint and you receive healing, healing in more ways than health, healing in mental and whatever else that's just a great advantage."

Relics have to be officially requested from the Vatican. The relics are on display through the weekend.
