A Fargo couple shows the true meaning of endless love

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Most of the summer weddings have passed. But there is still one memorable, incredible day to come.

Tomorrow, Touchmark at Harwood Groves will host the wedding of "97 year old Jim Wilkins" and "89 year old Judy Williams." The two met,

by chance, and now will spend the rest of their days together.

It's the day before the big wedding. And it's time for a little Bingo.

Not the bachelor party Jim Wilkins planned. But what a love story he has to tell.

Jim Wilkins/Getting married: "I was a little nervous until I got the first date."

Tomorrow at South Fargo's Touchmark, Jim Wilkins, 97, will take the hand of Judy Williams, 89.

The two will be married following a romantic winter whirlwind romance.

Judy Williams: "I wasn't nervous, no."

The courtship started so innocently here at Touchmark in South Fargo. Judy was already living here and jim was living here short term until is place was ready in Fergus Falls.

Jim: "I saw here in exercise class, and I said I want to know that lady."

Judy: "I wasn't looking but there he was."

Jim: "She was so nicely dressed and well mannered, I thought that is a lady i want to know."

Jim and Judy continued their friendship which quickly grew into something more.

Jim: "Finally asked her for a date and we went out on Feb. 4th."

Judy: "He is a gentleman."

And so at 97, Jim and his soon to be wife Judy, 89 will do what so many dream of. Being happy later in life. And in this case,starting over together.

Judy: "I feel very lucky."

Judy: "How many people my age have all these things happening?"

Both have witnessed so much history. Jim's grandfather was in the Civil War. And Jim fought in World War Two, the Pacific. Judy, a beautiful young lady never dreamed she would be a beaming bride at 89.

Jim: "That is what attracted me most, such a fine lady."

Judy: "Jim is always looking forward to tomorrow, not yesterday."

Jim: "I am so delighted, I have a companion."

But they will be together forever now, partners in life and at Bingo.

Jim: "I have been lucky."

"That is a good bingo."

"Clear your cards."

And performing the wedding service will be the bride's son, who is an Episcopalian priest. The couple plans a honeymoon later to Las Vegas.
