Man arrested for burglarizing home in Buffalo

UFFALO, N.D. – Deputies tracked down and arrested a 26-year-old man who fled when he was allegedly caught burglarizing a home here on Thursday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies were dispatched at 2:50 p.m. to a burglary in progress in Buffalo.
The victim had entered his home and found property damaged and the suspect still inside, Sgt. Tara Morris stated in a news release.
The suspect fled into an attached garage, where he broke a window to escape, the release stated. Deputies searched the area with a police dog and found the suspect hiding under a trailer and took him into custody at 5:08 p.m.
Derrick St. Claire, whose last known address is Dilworth, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and criminal mischief. He also had a warrant for failure to appear for a previous burglary charge stemming from an incident in Cass County on July 20, 2011.
