Lisbon, ND (WDAY TV) -- Nine extremely malnourished horses seized Wednesday from a farm south of Lisbon arrived in Mandan.
The horses are now being held at the Triple H Miniature Rescue. Rescue Founder Alison Smith says there were 14 horses on the property that were starved, abused and neglected
Authorities allowed the owner to keep five. Smith says next Friday the court will decide if these horses will be placed back in the hands of their former owner.
Alison Smith with the Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue says, "To me if they go back it is a crime in itself that anybody would turn these horses back. They will not live through the winter there. I am not even positive the ones that are there will."
