Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - You should soon be able to cross the river on a new bridge in Lindenwood Park.
The bridge contractor now has the new bridge in place and the old one is on its way out. It could be a few days before the new wench and lift system arrives.
Crews are getting the approaches ready to each side of the bridge, so walkers can use it. Once the lift work begins, the new bridge will be closed briefly.
Dave Leeker, Fargo Parks: “The big thing will be the ease of putting it down, because once we lift it up in March, we can't put it down until May because of road restriction and cranes, but now if the flood comes we will leave it in place and lift it up and be ready to go.”
The $1 million project should be wrapped up sometime in December.
