Fargo residents walk to find a cure for breast cancer

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- It's a deadly disease that can affect our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and tens of thousands of women across the country.

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- It's a deadly disease that can affect our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, and tens of thousands of women across the country.

Many of us have a loved one who has had breast cancer. People in Fargo are on a mission to beat the disease, raising money to find a cure.

They're decking out in bright pink for the Fargo-Moorhead Breast Cancer Walk, a 2 mile loop around West Acres. Carol Anderson is a four-year survivor of breast cancer.

Carol Anderson, breast cancer survivor, says, "Breast cancer's affected my family many, many times. My sisters had it, my aunt, my cousin. And as you can see from here, there's lots of people, it affects so many of my friends. And I think it's important to support the cause."

The American Cancer Society says about 40 thousand woman died last year from breast cancer.
