Grandin man accused of assaulting pregnant woman

GRANDIN, N.D. – A 21-year-old man was arrested here this morning after he allegedly assaulted a wom-an who is 30 weeks pregnant, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies arrested Taylor Wayne Rohrich at his home at about 5:30 a.m. on suspicion of aggravated domestic violence. He was taken to the Cass County Jail in Fargo.

The woman, who lives with Rohrich, alleged that he hit her in the face with his hands and a blunt object that she believed to be a baseball bat, Capt. Rick Majerus said.

A family member drove the woman to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo for treatment, Majerus said. He said he didn’t know the extent of the woman’s injuries.

Deputies responded at about 4 a.m. to the incident, which remains under investigation.
