STROMSBURG, Neb. (AP) — Authorities say 59-year-old man has been fatally injured in a collision north of Stromsburg in eastern Nebraska.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports that the accident occurred just before 7 a.m. Thursday on Nebraska Highway 92.

The Nebraska state Patrol says 74-year-old Barney Nuget, of Antler, N.D., was driving east on the highway when his pickup left the roadway. The truck went out of control when it swerved back onto the pavement and collided with a westbound van.

The patrol says the van driver, Steven Woolsey, was fatally injured. Nuget received only minor injuries.
