FARGO - Want to impersonate a police officer? Apparently there's an app for that.
Fargo police arrested a 24-year-old man early today after several people reported a suspicious male parked in an alley just off North University Drive between 13th and 14th avenues.
Lt. Joel Vettel said the man was using an iPad app to simulate red-and-blue flashing lights on the dash of his black pickup truck and was also wearing a high-visibility striped jacket and a police-style radio on his belt.
Vettel said the man didn't make any traffic stops, but "it was obvious that he was engaging people."
Officers arrived and found a man matching the suspect's description. Jeffrey James Diesburg of Fargo was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and on three outstanding warrants, Vettel said.
