(WDAY TV) -- A Fort Ransom woman is in jail tonight, facing homicide charges in the death of her 22-month-old child.
Jodi Lindvall made her first court appearance today. A judge set Lindvall's bail at a 10-thousand-dollar cash bond. She is facing one charge of murder and two charges of felony child abuse.
We went to the Lindvall home this afternoon but nobody answered.
Much of the details are sealed because its the death investigation of
a child, but according to charging documents, Lindvall quote
"manifested extreme indifference to the value of human life" or an act
of "abuse or neglect caused the death of the 22-month-old child".
The Ransom County Sheriff's department says the baby was initially
taken to the hospital on the 18th and died less than a week later at
Sanford in Fargo.
It's an event that has sent shock-waves through this usually peaceful community.
Darren Benneweis, Ransom Co. Sheriff, says, "A murder charge,
ya know we're a small community, a small county, not a very big place,
I honestly can't remember the last time there was a homicide in Ransom County."
Again Lindvall is being in the Barnes County Jail right now on
10-thousand-dollar cash bond.
We will continue to follow this story closely and have more for you
tonight at 10.
