Kindred, ND (WDAY TV) - A Kindred company is being honored for its work selling products to new foreign markets.

Superior Incorporated makes steel grain bins and grain dryers and is exporting products to customers on five continents.

The company only began manufacturing five years ago. It employs around 140 people.

Congressman Rick Berg presented an award on behalf of the Department of Commerce which the company credits for its success.

Jon Engelstad, Superior Inc.: “The U.S. commercial services has had an invaluable service in setting up an initial market survey as we go into other countries with doing what they call gold keys where they put you in touch with you know 10, 15 qualified people that are really interested in your product.”

Superior previously distributed bins and dryers, but when they had trouble getting parts, they decided to start building their own.
