(WDAY TV) -- Nobody expected the North Girls golf team to win the EDC title, in fact the medalist, Spartans senior Annie Twells, said she'd chew off her own arm if North were to beat Davies for the first time this season.

While, North did win, Twells decided to keep her arm and it's a good thing, because now they realize they have a shot to win the big prize, as the state tournament gets underway tomorrow in Mandan.

Annie Twells, Fargo North senior, says, "It's always just by those strokes. You look back and you think, yeah I could've shaved that easily. So, we've never had a doubt that we could do it. It's just piecing it all together."

Addie Long, Fargo North junior, says, "You can't be overconfident because it's golf and golf will shoot you down once you get over it. But, I think you have to go in with the confidence that you know you worked all summer and all season to do this. It just comes down to seeing it, feeling it, and trusting it."
