Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- As substance abuse among teens evolves, experts say it is important to stay ahead of those trends.
Community partners met for the summit on youth alcohol use prevention today.
The goal is to make sure teens are getting consistent messages about abuse.
They focused not only on alcohol, but on the increasing problem of synthetic and prescription drug use.
Gina Nolte, Clay County Public Health, says, "we certainly always talk about the things that are highlighted right now: prescription drugs, synthetic drugs. And they certainly are a concern, and a possibility of growth unless we do something about that."
The main concern for youth substance abuse remains alcohol.
