Two metro schools practice lockdown drills

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- They were just drills. Much to the relief of parents and teachers. Two lock-downs in metro schools this morning.
Hawthorne Elementary was briefly locked down as police were serving a narcotics warrant at a home near the school. The lockdown lasted less than a half hour.
At Fargo South, a canine drug search in the parking lot led to the lockdown of the high school there. Police called it a routine narcotics search. Nothing was found.
The school says it used the search as way to conduct a lock down drill. North recently had a lockdown drill as well.
