Mantador, ND (WDAY TV) - A Mantador North Dakota man is a finalist in a National Invention Competition, called Everyday Edisons.

This is a promotional video for the Site Saver, a device designed to keep IV tubes from coming out of patients.

The device is a finalist for the PBS show.

Bob HeitKamp is the man behind the invention and the idea came to him when he was having trouble sleeping after a surgery.

Bob Heitkamp, Inventor: “I found out that every time I was about to fall asleep and woke up again I was grabbing the IV tubing and grabbing it and pulling it with me.”

The show will narrow the number of inventors they pick to 10, and feature them in next year's episodes.
