Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's become the game that each team circles on the calendar. The two schools recruit the same players and have developed a distinct dislike for one another.
That's why Saturday should be so much fun as NDSU opens conference play at Northern Iowa.
The last time the Bison played in Cedar Falls was a watershed moment for NDSU, they were sacked 11 times, held to negative 40 rushing yards as they return to the UNI-Dome trying to forget those memories.
Craig Bohl, 1-3 Record vs. UNI: “I don't think there's that type of carryover as far as number of sacks. Guys recognize the environment it was, that's an intense place, guys recognize that. For our younger players who haven't been there it will be a wakeup call. Older players recognize that. There are storylines that go back to the outburst on the sidelines a couple years ago. This is a really competitive game.”
One lineup change for NDSU this week, Bryan Shepherd is now in starting at strong safety, replacing Bobby Ollman.
The latest FCS coaches poll is out, NDSU retains the top spot with 25 of 26 first place votes, Montana State and Youngstown stay 2-3, Northern Iowa falls to 17. UND not quite in, receiving 48 votes, officially 28th overall.
