Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- Hundreds of people lined the streets of Fargo today, in memory of loved ones who completed suicide.
It's the 7th annual Out of the Darkness walk, raising money and awareness for suicide prevention. Tammy Erickson's son Chase completed suicide last year, at fifteen years old.
His family and friends are now walking in his honor.
Tammy Erickson, with Team Chase, says, "ninety percent of those that commit suicide have a diagnosable, treatable mental illness. If we could talk about it and it would be safe to talk about, they could get help and other families wouldn't have to go through the pain that we have endured."
One of the goals of the walk is to fight the stigma surrounding suicide.
