State Senator Ryan Taylor talks to UND students about the upcoming race for governor

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- A candidate for North Dakota's governor is using a big name to create buzz around his campaign.

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- A candidate for North Dakota's governor is using a big name to create buzz around his campaign.

State Senator Ryan Taylor brought in Desperate Housewives star James Denton to a talk at UND today. UND students met with Taylor and District 42 candidates -- discussing the upcoming race and the future of North Dakota.

Both Denton and Taylor say students will play a big part in the future of North Dakota.

State Senator, Ryan Taylor, says, "We think the students who are here right now will lead us to the next great advances in agriculture and the next great advances in aerospace technology."

Actor/political activist, James Denton, says, "There's a lot of energy here and a lot of enthusiasm and a lo of real smart people so it's a a great place to come and sort of get to say your piece."

Taylor and Denton made a total of four stops today throughout North Dakota informing students of what Taylor plans to do if elected.
