New parking restrictions enforced around MSUM

Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) - New parking restrictions are in effect today around MSUM in Moorhead.

Many streets around the university now have a three hour time limit.

The new restrictions are part of a comprehensive parking plan the city approved this summer to alleviate parking problems in the neighborhoods around both Concordia and MSUM.

MSUM has sent emails to students and staff about the change.

Taylor Hougum, MSUM student: “I haven't seen posters around campus or anything, and that might be helpful because I know there are a lot of students who don't buy parking passes just to save money, and think ‘I'll park on the street.’”

Parking restrictions around Concordia have been delayed because the school does not have the same availability of spots on campus as MSUM.
