(WDAY TV) -- If you start seeing blaze orange in the fields over the next week, it's likely your seeing a young hunter taking advantage of North Dakota's youth season.
Licensed 12-15 year olds are allowed to hunt statewide for the next 9 days.
The youth season program has been going on for about 10 years, and it's a good chance for young hunters to learn the ropes.
Doug Leier with the ND Game & Fish Dept., says, "This might be an opportunity to really breakdown the safety aspects of a hunt or to share some stories of what hunting means to you as a mentor. That's really the whole kind of philosophy behind these youth hunts."
North Dakota's 2-day youth waterfowl season also runs today and tomorrow.
