Thief River Falls, MN (WDAY TV) -- The Thief River Falls city council will soon decide whether to move forward on a proposal to sell a city park for a housing development.

Much of the surrounding neighborhood is upset about the idea. Annie's Park is a four acre piece of land where a developer wants to build an affordable housing complex. But many residents say the park still serves a purpose.

Tony Kozojed who donated land for the park says, "Less then some of the other locations in the city but it is used and it's enjoyed by the neighborhood."

Steve Nordhaged, Thief River Falls mayor, says, "Annie Park were one of the parks that we listed as a seldom used park. "

Mayor Nordhagen says he expects the city council to make a decision at Tuesday's meeting on what to do with the park.
